Contemporary dance places a heavy emphasis on the connection between mind and body, with dancers being encouraged to explore their emotions through dances that push against traditional boundaries.
Students of contemporary dance are persuaded to depart from classic dance techniques to encourage self-expression and to concentrate on the form and natural movement created by the absence of formal structure.
During the contemporary dance classes in our Adelaide studio, students will concentrate on modern dance techniques fused with improvisation, whilst learning the importance of core strength to enhance their performance.
Essential Talent's contemporary dance class is open to Senior Youth (ages 13-16), and Adult students (ages 16 +), and we see it as an important form of expression for our youth students.
