The EVOLUTION Shopping Mall Entertainment

Essential Talent has been providing entertainment to shopping malls across Australia, Asia and Middle East since 1985. During this time the shows have developed from a simple meet and greet to complicated theatrical productions.

Essential Talent has provided work opportunities overseas to over 1000 performers from 10 days stints to 1 and 2 months.

In the beginning the shows were simple panto style productions however with the introduction of internet making the world a much smaller place, the shows have become grander and more spectacular.

The shows have evolved from generic themed shows such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty to the famous cartoon brands staging spectacular productions starring their characters from cartoons.

From this came the off shoot of original productions such as Essential Talent’s “Adventures in Candyland” featuring original script, songs and score.

However the fight for the shoppers attention between shopping malls meant the entertainment had to be bigger and better than before which saw shows performed on portable ice rinks, circuses and aerial shows in the shopping mall atriums.

Over the years Essential Talent has produced and toured all these shows.

Shopping Malls now seem to be more cautious with their entertainment budget and are expecting more bang for their buck, the introduction of interactive shows and activities are all the rage at the moment.

Where to from here?..... Who knows? Maybe holographic or virtual reality entertainment.
